12,300 Runners Participate in the Successful Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024

Jakarta, November 24, 2024 – The Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 officially took place this morning at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday, November 24, 2024. 12,300 runners from various age groups enthusiastically participated in this annual Pertamina event.

This annual event commemorated Pertamina's 67th Anniversary on December 10, 2024. Participants competed in four categories: 1.5k (Family Run), 5k (Fun Run), 10k (Student, General, and Master), and the 21k Half Marathon.

Wiko Migantoro, Vice President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), expressed his appreciation for the increasing enthusiasm of participants in the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 over the years. Previously, the event attracted 10,000 runners, while this year, the number of participants exceeded 12,300. Pertamina remains committed to supporting the Pertamina Eco RunFest.

“The atmosphere is extraordinary, and the number of participants continues to grow. This year, it has reached 12,300 and keeps increasing annually. Pertamina contributes to promoting healthier and more active lifestyles. Moving forward, we are committed to organizing events like this for everyone’s joy and well-being. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is amazing, refreshing, healthy, and productive,” he stated.

Similarly, the Corporate Secretary of Pertamina, Brahmantya S. Poerwadi, extended his gratitude to all Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 participants. With the theme of "Running for More Energy," the event aims to make Indonesia healthier. As a state-owned enterprise (SOE), Pertamina is committed to being an energy source for the nation while ensuring its employees and the wider community become healthier and more energized.

Dito Percussion, a public figure and participant in the 10k race, praised the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 for its excellent organization. He even recommended the event to others for the 2025 edition.

“I joined the 10k race. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is the best. The race route was completely clean and well-organized. The marshals and everyone involved were very supportive. Participants were disciplined and threw trash properly, which is very important. There were plenty of water stations. I highly recommend everyone to join Pertamina Eco RunFest next year. Do not miss out, as spots fill up quickly. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 was incredible!” he concluded.

Under the theme "Energizing the Change," the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 became Indonesia’s first carbon-neutral running event, supporting the nation’s decarbonization efforts. The event implemented sustainability principles by using eco-friendly materials and waste management systems, creating positive impacts for the environment and society. Additionally, Pertamina supported the empowerment of Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to help drive the national economy.
