Jakarta, December 11, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) remains committed to delivering benefits to society, the environment, and the economy. These include energy provision for healthy and sustainable food, MSMEs, clean energy transition, and Desa Energi Berdikari (DEB/Energy-Independent Villages) through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina continues accelerating its efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In business operations, Pertamina ensures a balance between social and environmental benefits. "In support of healthy food initiatives, Pertamina has accelerated its food security program. Pertamina has also planted over eight million mangroves and productive trees and has managed to produce 15,762.6 tons of food annually," explained Fadjar.
Additionally, Fadjar mentioned that Pertamina has provided education to 35,000 participants through the Sehati (Healthy Children and Mothers) Program and addressed the nutritional needs of 18,000 infants.
To improve community livelihoods, Pertamina has empowered MSMEs by facilitating access to capital for 73,000 MSMEs, resulting in 36,000 new jobs creation. "The income of these MSMEs has increased, reaching a value of IDR 24 billion per year," Fadjar noted.
Moreover, Pertamina has empowered 22,000 female-led MSMEs, with 2,500 successfully advancing through the UMK Academy and Pertamina’s Rumah BUMN initiative.
"Pertamina also focuses on supporting differently-abled entrepreneurs. A total of 2,900 differently-abled individuals have experienced business growth, generating an economic value of IDR 1.9 billion," Fadjar highlighted.
On the other hand, Pertamina continues to expand clean energy utilization in villages, reaching 125 villages. Annually, these efforts have produced 537,716 kWh of clean energy from solar PV, micro-hydro, and hybrid power sources. Meanwhile, biogas initiatives generate 846,180 m³ of clean energy annually.
"Each year, Pertamina has successfully reduced over 950,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, supporting the government’s target to achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060," Fadjar concluded.
