Utrecht, Netherlands, November 29, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) continues demonstrating its commitment to promoting Indonesia globally. This time, Pertamina is participating in the prestigious "Discovering The Magnificence of Indonesia" Tourism & Trade Expo held in Utrecht, Netherlands. The event serves as a strategic platform to highlight Indonesia's rich tourism heritage while promoting the featured products of Pertamina's fostered micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the Dutch market.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), stated that the company's participation in the event reflects its tangible support for empowering MSMEs and promoting Indonesian tourism internationally. “We want to show the world that Indonesia is not only rich in energy resources but also has significant potential in the creative economy and tourism sectors,” he said.
During the expo, Pertamina showcased premium products from its fostered MSMEs, representing diverse regions across Indonesia. These products were meticulously curated to ensure quality and competitiveness in international markets.
Over 200 globally recognized creative products from 21 fostered MSMEs were presented in the Netherlands. These included cultural handicrafts, culinary products, and eco-friendly beauty items. Among the participating MSMEs were Joglo Ayu Tenan, Sekar Mukti, Toko Ida Utama, and Kerajinan Kulit Kerang Situbondo. Indonesian woven fabrics from Kainnesia and Narita Shibori were featured in the fashion sector.
In the culinary category, products from MSMEs such as Fish Snack, Rendang Erika, Kahla, Arrinnee, Nukuma Soes, Alzavera, and various sambals and cooking spices from DD Satoe, Sanrah Food, and Lyvia Nusa Boga were showcased, along with honey from Bali Honey. Bali Ayu, a producer of leather and beauty products from Bali, also participated. In the commodities sector, products included spices and coffee from MSMEs like Roemah Rempah, Palm Sugar, Concervana Spices, and Kopi Walatra.
Pertamina also used the event to promote Indonesia's premier tourist destinations, particularly areas where the company has implemented its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community development programs. These destinations include the tourist villages of Balkondes Wringin Putih and Balkondes Karangrejo in Magelang, a mangrove conservation tourism village in Cilacap, and Desa Shuji (Energy Tourism Village) in Muara Enim.
An additional highlight was the display of pineapple fiber crafts. These products, made from abundant pineapple leaf waste in Subang, are processed into fibers, spun into threads, and used to create textiles, clothing, and accessories. This collection exemplifies Pertamina's commitment to environmental sustainability and cultural aesthetics.
Fadjar explained that Pertamina’s presence at the expo attracted visitors by showcasing the uniqueness of Indonesian culture. The Pertamina booth embodied a concept that synergized energy, culture, and innovation. “We also used this opportunity to share information about our CSR programs, which focus on empowering local communities. Pertamina demonstrates how the synergy between the energy industry, tourism, and community development can positively impact the national economy,” Fadjar concluded.
The event was attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Drs. Mayerfas, officials and representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague, several international buyers and business figures, the Dutch public, and the Indonesian diaspora community in Europe.
“We hope Pertamina’s participation in international events like this in the Netherlands opens opportunities for new collaborations and investments, promotes Indonesian tourism and culture, and expands the market access for our fostered MSME products globally,” Fadjar added.
Pertamina’s CSR initiatives support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), as well as the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
