Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 Brings Positive Impact on the Environment, Humanity, and Economy

Jakarta, November 24, 2024 – The Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024, successfully held at Istora Senayan Jakarta on Sunday, November 24, 2024, delivered threefold benefits, creating a positive impact on the environment, humanity, and the economy.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina, as a state-owned enterprise, is committed to promoting a sustainable, carbon-neutral lifestyle, supporting MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) development, and playing an active role in addressing humanitarian issues.

"As an energy company, Pertamina has a strategic role in supporting sustainable lifestyles that align with global trends and contributing to humanitarian causes," Fadjar said.

Fadjar added that Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 demonstrates Indonesia's commitment to achieving the NZE (Net Zero Emission) 2060 target.

"This is Indonesia's first carbon-neutral running event that supports decarbonization efforts and environmental preservation," he continued.

All facilities and infrastructure used in this event utilized eco-friendly materials, waste, and garbage management, thus positively impacting the environment and benefiting society.

In addition to addressing environmental issues, Pertamina rolled out its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program through the Pertamina Sustainable Forest initiative, allocating IDR 4.5 billion to 13 social forestry locations. Simultaneously, Pertamina donated humanitarian aid for Palestine, channeled through the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta.

"This donation aims to assist the people of Palestine, who need global support. Part of the aid will be allocated to constructing a hospital in Palestine," explained Fadjar.

Moreover, Pertamina supported the empowerment of MSMEs to stimulate the national economy. Pertamina provided space for its partner MSMEs to showcase their superior products to thousands of participants.

"This year, Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 involved 53 MSMEs. Sales are targeted to exceed last year’s achievements," Fadjar stated.
