Pertamina Wins Awards on the Investing on Climate Editor’s Choice Award 2024
Jakarta, December 10, 2024 – The Indonesian capital market community has recognized the efforts of Pertamina Group in addressing climate change and global warming challenges. Pertamina's commitment to sustainability was demonstrated through three prestigious awards it received at the Investing on Climate Editor’s Choice Award 2024 at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building in Jakarta last Wednesday (4/12).
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajar Djoko Santoso, stated that the company is dedicated to achieving energy self-sufficiency while maintaining sustainability to support the government’s Net Zero Emissions target by 2060.
“In Pertamina’s business strategy, we prioritize environmentally friendly operations and enhance energy transition initiatives utilization, both within our business activities and through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental programs. These include the Desa Energi Berdikari (DEB/Energy Independent Village) and Sekolah Energi Berdikari (Energy Independent School) programs, which empower communities to support energy self-sufficiency,” Fajar explained.
Pertamina Group achieved four awards: PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk, and PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk received recognition in the Best Literacy for Climate Resilience category, while PT Pertamina (Persero) was also awarded for Green Technology Investment. The awards were presented by Ardian T. Gesuri, Managing Director of Investing on Climate, to Dian Hapsari Firasati, Acting VP of CSR & SMEPP Management of Pertamina.
“The awards are given to both publicly listed companies and non-public companies. This reflects Pertamina’s adherence to internationally recognized sustainability principles, as implemented by public companies,” said Fajar.
In his speech, Ardian T. Gesuri emphasized the significance of recognizing climate action through the Investing on Climate Editor’s Choice Award 2024 to encourage climate initiatives as strategic investment opportunities for companies.
