Social Impact: Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 Delivers Humanitarian Aid for Palestine

Jakarta, November 24, 2024 – Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 has contributed humanitarian aid worth IDR 3.5 billion to Palestine. The aid was delivered through the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta.  

The donation was handed over directly by the Vice President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Wiko Migantoro, to the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al Shun, on Sunday, November 24, 2024, during the Pertamina Eco RunFest event at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.  

This humanitarian effort for Palestine reflects Pertamina's concern for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The donation is expected to help the people of Palestine, who urgently need support from the global community. Part of the aid will be allocated to constructing a hospital in Palestine.  

At the same event, Pertamina also launched its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program through the Pertamina Sustainable Forest initiative for 13 Social Forestry locations. IDR 4.5 billion was allocated for this initiative.  

The symbolic handover of the Pertamina Sustainable Forest TJSL program was conducted by the Director of Logistics & Infrastructure of Pertamina, Alfian Nasution, and received by Wastoyo from KUPS Margo Rukun Bestari in Tanggamus, Ulubelu, Lampung.  

The Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al Shun, expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Indonesian government, Pertamina, and the people of Indonesia.  

“Thank you for the support of all Indonesians for Palestine. We deeply appreciate your continuous solidarity with Palestine,” said Zuhair.  

Under the theme "Energizing the Change," Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 became Indonesia’s first carbon-neutral running event, supporting the country’s decarbonization efforts. Additionally, the event was conducted with sustainability in mind, including eco-friendly materials utilization and effective waste and garbage management. This approach ensures positive impacts and benefits for the environment and society. Pertamina also supports Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) empowerment as part of its commitment to driving national economic growth.
